Default Fast Intake broken at 16 psi

Hi guys,

the lower shell of my 92 mm Fast intake is broken because of the more psi of the YSI charger. Do you know a strenghened lower shell?
Where to order the lower shell cheap?

Thanks

They actually sell burst caps that you install on the same lower shell. Seems to me like it should be build a little stronger for the money, but it isn't.

I cracked mine, not using flat valley pan bolts, it was dimple cracks,
i fixed it by JB weld, sanded rough first with 40 grit paper and removed dirt with acetone,
and than applied JB weld, i re-did second day as well and last installed perfect worked nice.

But if u r runnning that much boost than install LS6 intake which is lot stronger than FAST intake f*@!*$! cheap plastic piece that u paid 4 times the money.

I've seen two break with just N/A.
Install a ported LS6 unless you have a lot of money.
I'm running a YSi too (just installed it) but with only 20 psi.

I had the same issue with my Fast 78--However i was for warned about the bolt heads---So I pre instaled some shallow button head allen bolts---even then i checked the clearance by placing "white out' ot the bolt heads and installing about 3 bolts on each side semi-tight and still a few of them touched---i had to use a dremmel to clearance those--
I agree--for the $$ you would think the fit and finish of a Fast would be perfect--looking inside one there are so many turbulent areas that could have been molded better----If i were to do it again i would stick with the LS6 intake or try the TPIS Oval---

Anybody try the Weiand street warrior?? I heard they were not going to make them but Summit keeps advertising they have them. Seems a one piece is the way to go as its more structuly sounds then a 3 piece intake.

If you're going to be boosted, why not use a LS2 90mm intake. They're cheep and plentyful.

I know you're out of the country, but maybe you can call them. I can get you a ported LS2 intake for a very reasonable price if you need. It won't break like that under boost.
Tsus!

Fast intakes and Hi-Tech hoods must be made by the same company. Both POS non fitting junk in my book. All that $ and have to modifiy them to no end to work. Then they break.
