'98 c5 no start

Hi everyone, need help with my 98 C5

Car ran great with no hassles for a year

Pal bought it from me after the Man took my license

His "help" power-washed the car (!) one day and ever since we have had hassle.

Started with warning codes such as reduced power, abs, etc. then wierd behaviour from engine, sometimes ran strong, then coughed & gave up.

Now she will not fire at all.

Got P1635 code off OBD2 scanner.....

Any ideas?

More than likely you got water into the PCM connecter or plug- OR the hi-pressure stream when washing unpluggeg it or pulled a wire out- the diagnosis is rather complex but read the red writing and it will give you a 1st thing to look at--then if you have someone or can do it yourself--follow the diagnosis proceures and fixes

Hi, tblu92 ; many thanks for replying and the very comprehensive info: will do as suggested and report results.
Is the PCM the alloy-cased box of tricks sited below the battery tray (!)
Seems a great place to locate it ( irony for GM ....)
