Default tune only still stock?

My dad has a 2000 with 13,387 miles. We really want to keep it stock. The original tires are actually getting a little dry rot so the back end kicks out a little more often than we like. But I digress...

What is CF.com's opinion on getting a tune only? Is it still stock if we don't change anything else?

I say yes. Even in stock form, there are many things you can do to get the most out of the Vette. If it is automatic, there is even more. I can help you with any tuning

It is an M6, fully loaded with the electromagnetic suspension control.

What can be done in stock form?

Mine is also a M6 and MagRide on an LS3. I gained 20 rwhp from tuning but, the low to mid end is the greatest improvement. The car is much more responsive and I reduced the torque manangement. That was a big improvement and optimized the fueling tables using a wideband. Overall, it was worth it and the runflats will have to go I also optimized the fan temps for a stock thermostat.

I have a stock 2000 M6 except for a cold air intake and had it tuned by a forum member (phils C5 vette). He also reduced the torque management for noticable improvements in throttle response. Haven't had the car on a dyno so don't know if there was any HP gain, but the seat of the pants meter says something good happened. In addition, he removed that pesky 1 to 4 shift lock out and indicator light (though why the dash light disappeared is a mystery to me as everything I read said you could bypass the lock out but the light would still appear, but I am not complaining). Now if tuning would only fix my hazzard switch I would be a very happy puppy!
