free Y2K C5 tunes in Tampa
i just finished taking the "the tuning school" for HPtuners and need some practice cars. My HPT is programed for all 2000 C5s.
Id like a couple stock cars up to bolt ons to start off, and move to a heads and cam C5 that has not been tuned yet.
Im not a pro nor claim to be. Ill save your arrival tune, and up load it back to the car if you dont like what I have done.
I need a couple practice cars to move to the next stage. I just want to tweek your car some for FREE. ID like for you to be in south tampa just in case you dont like what I did, or a week later a stray code pops up i need to shut off.
I want to start working on my neighbors twin supercharged C6, but need practice before I buy a license for it.
I have LM1, but its unknown of Ill use it for the basics
Thanks
Phil

I went to the course. it was excellant. I dont want to forget my basics.
You have to alway save the tune before you touch it, then start scanning. you'd sit with me in the car as I go through my check list. If you dont like what has been changed, Ill reload the original tune.
Ive modified my tune, but it had a prior tune. Im looking to start from scratch. PMs returned
im just looking to help out a couple local brothers

I wish you were closer. I'm finishing up a milled 243, cam. header swap on my 2000. I'd love to get a safe tune so I can drive it to a shop an hour and a half away without hurting the engine.

I am in Tampa and have a 2000 coupe and would be interested. The engine is bone stock except for a cold air induction dual filter bolton with 55k miles.

Phil, the tuning school is rather basic and for the most part not an accurate portrayal of how to tune. I am also in Tampa and have been doing this for over 9 years. There is much more involved than what is represented in the tuning school. I have retuned quite a few cars from the tuning school and it make me think that I should get into THAT business.

Im secure enough to know my limits, and if someone wants a professional dyno tune, im not their guy.
What I can do is follow my instructional guidelines, ( like you may have done 9 years ago) and make their car run better. If they dont like what I changed, I can upload their original tune and they can drive home.
Im not in this for the money. Im just looking for an excuse to get out of church on sundays.

Phil, good luck man, I think its great you are offering to tune cars for free, pretty soon 85% of people will be tuning their own cars from now on. I love HPTuners and am still getting the hang of it.

Thanks Don
Grab a one slot the tuning school when it comes near you. It was in the same city as me and I couldnt resist. We dyno tuned 4 cars following a step by step process and I thought it was a great class for me. I need to get a some tunes and scans under my belt, and Email them to the school so I can qualify for their advanced school. If they think I dont demonstrate enough knowledge, I dont get to learn the next level. Its not a BS course
Yes if I dont cut it, they dont invite me back. That's why I just cant see taking anyones money since my HPT is already set up for Y2K C5s.
I have been applying what I learned, and my car gets silly traction now
