This will probably sound like a stupid question but here goes. I have a basiclly stock C5. I have a Corsa pace car cat back and a vararam cold air intake system. The car is a 2001 Coupe with an A4 and 3.15 gears. Will I see any improvement with a tune and if so how much? Thanks for the help.

In addition to improving the performance of your A4 tranny, a tune will add a solid 10-15 rwhp and allow you to bring in a bit of fuel up top to keep up with that Vararam.

Thanks
Mike

I'd have to say not absolutely necessary, but a darn good idea at this point(cai). Prices can range, from the bargain basement shops at maybe 200-300.00, to the range of 400-600.00, from an experienced tuner, who will not rush your car back out the door. I'd like to say you get what you pay for, but I've seen far too many folks spend thousands and never get their cars tuned even halfway right. Get references, and focus on the value of it all, and the quality of the shop's work.

Firming up the shifts, dropping fan temps, dialing in WOT AFR, and maybe tweaking timing a bit should be worth a tenth or two in the quarter mile.

Allthough it's been debated a million times, I think it would be in your best interest to wait until you do a few more bolt ons (headers x-pipe) Then you will get more out of the tune. JUST MY $.02

So waiting till you get intake, headers and exhaust will be better off in the long run? That helped me out too! Thanks for the $.02 haha

YES, YOU GOTTA DO IT!!!

Tuning an A4 is a must.....I can make that thang come ALIVE!!! And as far as tuning the engine....You DON'T NEED ANY MODS TO GET AN AWESOME TUNE...but it does help the more mods you have.....

Some guys think that you need mods to tune a car....NOPE! A totally stock car will get really nice benefits....the other thing is, when you tune with me....ALL OF YOUR TUNING UPDATES ARE TOTALLY FREE!!! unless you install heads/cam or F/I.....

So, as you add HEADERS FREE RE-TUNE!, CAT BACK FREE RE-TUNE!, COLD AIR INTAKE FREE RE-TUNE!, SHIFT POINT OR ANY OTHER CHANGES FREE RE-TUNE!. As long as you tune with me IT'S FREE!

Have a look at one of my recent A4 MAIL ORDER TUNES in this thread....

Chuck, It looks like I'm a little over 2 hours away from you.

Can I bring our cars to you for a tune?

How much to tune if I come and see you at your shop?

Are you going to be at Carlisle this August? If so will you be doing tunes there and any idea on a cost for the tune?

I just had Chuck of CoW tune my 1999 C5 M6. The results are unbelievable. The only way I can describe the Tune is that it is like the car is now Updated. The driving experience is even more fun and exciting than ever. Chuck is a man of his word and his service and patience go beyond anyone else that ever worked on any of my cars.

I feel like my "Corvette Grin" has been renewed.

Thanks again Chuck.
