It began as having a "jolt" kind of shift after a tune took out torque management. I had the tuners try to soften the shift but it's still pretty violent. On top of this, the engine feels very weak compared to my mom's stock 98 vert (mine has a vararam and borla and i would expect it to at least pullas hard as hers) I'm also experienceing random bumps at idle where the car will suddenly jerk slightly like a misfire.
Codes are the following:
p0522
p0748
p1111
p1571
p1626
I'm going to take it to my vette mechanich tomorrow, but i'd like a vauge idea of what damage i'm looking at.
oh...and for toppers, the AC belt fell off so it will have to be towed up there. (i have no way to replace the belt at the house)
WOW----A large amount of codes that aren't related to each other--However if your car has gone into the "limp home" mode it would account for much of the rough shifting and the transmission codes
here's that they mean :
P0522 Oil pressure semsor switch low voltage
Wire pigtail could have been left disconnected
P0748 Trans. solenoid "A" pressure control
Could be related to "limp home mode"
P1111 IAT temp sensor High voltage
Wire pigtail on air filter assembly left off or broken
P1571 Traction Control torque request
Could be related to 'limp home " mode
P1626 Theft deterant start signal lost
Usually a false code--key switch malfunction/start-up battery
low-voltage--
I would start by checking all the wire pigtails i mentioned---Disconnect the battery for 2-3 hours to erase all learned fuel trimsand to re-set ECM--Charge battery fully
Also the issues that would cause a trans "limp home mode " are huge.
It could be many things--I would start with the most common
1) low trans fluid
2) HOT trans fluid
3) Engine misfire
4)low battery voltage
5)low engine oil pressure or no oil presure/ low oil level/faulty oil pressure sensor/
6)incorrect removal of torque management
7) incorrect tire sizing-faulty ABS sensor(TC revolution sensor)
It turns out most of the physical problems were caused by the AC comprssor locking up. Bad idle, slugishness etc. I cut off the remains of the AC belt and the Car drove fine. It's at the shop now having the AC tensioner pulley replaced and a look at the compressor. I have a feeling this may be responsible for some of the codes
The traction control and trans codes are most likely related to a tune i had done that removed the torque management. I took it back to the shop yesterday to have part of the torque management restored. The trans shifts much smoother now.
EDIT:
The AC tensioner is guilty. THe pulley had a small chunk out of it and was grabbing the AC belt. eventually it became so loose it fell off. AC compressor is still good. Dodged a big bullet there.
