WOT Missing

I have a 1997 with some mild performance upgrades that brings 400 HP. The problem is excelerating at WOT up to 5500 RPM it runs great and then starts to cut out like it is lacking fuel. I can start from zero and ease it up to over 5500RPM without a miss, but with a WOT from the start I have a problem. Before I start experimenting with a higher pressure fuel pump, I would like to get your input ?

One of many possibilities is a bad crankshaft sensor. It happened to a friends car. It took months to narrow it down. Installed a new sensor and everything was good.

Thanks Threed, does anyone know where to look for the crankshaft sensor?
