Ok, here is my issue. I recently brought a 99 Vette with LG long tube headers, Cat back system, and doesn't have run flats anymore. Unfortunately the previously owner didn't have the O2 sensors and tire pressure sensors tuned out. The car seems to run great, but from everything I can read seems like those things could/should be corrected with a tune and it would run better as well. I have talked vendors like Cow who will for $350 (seems reasonable) re-tune my PCM (mail in) and I've seen people getting mail in tunes for $100-$150. I don't plan on trying to learn to tune, but if I ever wanted to have more tunes seems like I should just buy a tuner (recommendations please) and get mail in updates vs a one time shot PCM mail in tune. I also open road race my 99 so I want it to run well between 100 to 140 but don't want to sacrifice the awesome power around town. Any helpful recommendation out there for this novice?

Sounds like you're going to be playing with the tune eventually. IMO, it's not that hard to do minor adjustments in a tuning program. If you weren't ever going to touch the car again, I'd go for mail in tune.. but it sounds like a program is more of what you'll want. (tire changes at the track, etc.)
Also, EFi has "auto tunning" (HPtuners will also have it soon) just to polish up some of the incidentals.

That's perfect for you. It seems that Texas is a very popular Corvette area. I don't know the shops in that area but I have seen many posts regarding Texas area tuners and speed shops. Welcome and good luck with you mods.
Id stay away from both of your ideas, mail in tunes are NOT 100% effective, yes good companys can get them close enough to work good, but they will never be 100% for your car.
If by purchasing a tuner yoru talking about a small handheld, id stay away from that as well, they just dont do anything worth paying for IMO. Now, if your talking about buying EFI Live and tuning real time, go for it! youll learn alot about how your PCM works and in the end it will be best for ya.
For now though, i highly suggest taking your car to an experienced dyno tuner, pay the money and get it done right, you wont be dissapointed.
If your going to race the car, spend the money for a dyno tune.
You wanna play, you gotta pay. Learn to tune or find a good tuner in your area. I chose to learn myself after shelling out 350 dollars to get nothing. Learning on LS1 Edit.
