Default OBD II baud rate?

as this is called, does anyone know what the baud rate is for an obd II car? i had a 95 C4 and that is obd I. i have a 98 blazer LT now, and i am trying to make a aldl to pc device. but i dont know what the baud rate is. if anyone knows of where i can get this info for this and/or to make a data logger for obd II i would appreciate it. and maybe a way to make a programmer for it too? thanks a bunch.

I didn't know that the OBDII port was a serial connection device.

GM VPN is 10.4k, with boost function can't remmember what they call it multiply by 4.

Most scan tools operate at 10.4k.

Baud rate 10.4 kbps... GM has perhaps the slowest serial data rate (compared to other makes) on LS1/6 PCM.

If you want additional info post what you need I might be able to help you out.

SAE / EPA generic OBD-II is 10.4K baud
GM's VPW is 40K baud and reason a good scanner can do 40 frames a second and EPA is less then 10.

Another thing that will determine/influence the baud rate is the refresh rate of the sensors. The quicker the refresh rate of the sensor, the faster is change read changes, the more expensive. Usually the cost of the sensor is exponential to the increase of the refresh rate. If the sensors have a 'slow' refresh rate, then there is no point in having a fast bus speed.
