Default Which Hand Held for C5???

Just purchased the Superchips Flashpaq 2825 for my C5/CE w/AT & Borla cat back. It's awesome...!

I cannot believe the difference in performance and driveability. Shifts are more positive, times are noticeably quicker and power gain is definitely there! Haven't had it to the strip yet but I'm sure it will show some great gains there, also!

Had some problems with their software at first but their engineers came up with a solution to my "older" stock files that they had not seen before. Bought mine from Stripper Motor Sports (online) as they had the best price.

hand held tuners make noticeable improvements... but mostly on automatic trans C5's.

Since you have a 6 speed; I'd suggest spending -near- the same money on a dyno tune.

Mike has a point and there is a guy on this forum that will do a virtual tune online for about $100. The only trouble with those is you get a tune for maximum performance only (unless you opt for a tune for economy) and you cannot change it. With a handheld unit like mine you can tune for whatever your day entails - cruise through the countryside, fast windy road in the mountains or a trip to the strip!

is it worth it to do both the pro tune and the hand held?

SO you can SAVE the pro tuning programing? And then have a program for max performance.. another for the long ride out to the shore? Etc?

Is that a posibility?

Well, the handhelds come with a 'pro' tune already installed.....

Thanks

Default Handheld tuners

Yes, the one I have has the "engineered" performance tune, and you can modify many of the settings (rev limiter, shift rpms, etc) plus it saves your "stock" tune as you will need to revert to stock if you take it to a dealer. Takes only a few minutes to install, revise, or revert! Love it!

Oh, yeah! Almost forgot that it comes with PC software and a USB hookup so you can download updated programming for your vehicle, etc...
