Default Running untuned after cam swap?

Hey everyone, just wanted to know if I'm posing serious damage to my engine by driving my car from my garage to the tuner's shop (about 20 miles) untuned after I put the new cam in. It's a pretty mild cam, if that makes a difference. Thanks in advance!

as long as your not changing injectors you'll probably be fine. Just keep your rpms fairly low & you should be fine as long as the cam isnt big enough to make you stall out

You don't say how "small" your cam is, but you should't have any issues. I drove a couple hundred miles after I changed my small (224) cam, and although it died every time I came to a stop (I have an auto) the only damage I did was kill one of the O2s.

You should have no problem.
I didn't look at your sig for details; Is there any particular reason why you went with a reverse split cam? Planning on going FI?

A couple of friends went with them (one with an LS2, one with an LS6) and they had great results. I also like the stock idle that comes with it. And I would never rule out FI

Didn't mean to imply it was a bad cam. The general train of though has been to run a straight pattern or a dual pattern cam with more duration and lift on the exhaust side to help with the scavaging when running street legal exhaust. (as opposed to open headers)
I'm sure that cam will work great for you

I definitely didn't think you were saying anything negative about it at all. Almost everytime I tell people about the cam, they have lots of questions about it. I do plan on going with long tubes and no cats soon as well. Thanks for the advice, I'm still a noob to the more advanced theories and whatnot.

I drove my car around for ~8 months after a cam swap on the stock tune and even took it to the track. No issues. Its a 221/221 .575 112
Of course I've since done some other mods(boost) and now its tuned

Ooh, those 50's are going to dilute the oil nicely. See if they will let you swap when you get there. Heck, they might not charge you that much to do it for you. Why do you need 50's with that setup?
