How do I erase codes?

Turned ignition on, hit the reset . Held down the options and and pressed the fuel button 4 times with-in 10 seconds.Couldn't get my DTC's to show up, but I know there in there (service light is still on). It doesn't do anything. Am I doing something wrong. My build date is 06-97. Thanks.

Can somebody post me the steps on how to erase and scan DTC's for my 97 C5, build date 06-97(if that matters). How do I get the "service engine light" to go away? Thanks for the help.

If you want to erase codes in a given module, press "RESET".
