The AIR injection system only operates for a short time at cold startup. It is strictly an emmisions thing, so it won't affect driveability.

Some people have had success spraying penetrating oil or WD40 down the hose toward the pump to loosen it up. Here is the full troubleshooting procedure.

GL!

I would check the AIR check valves on each side of the exhaust manifolds--They go bad quite often--as they get carboned up or moisture makes them rusty and they won't close and wil simulate an exhaust leak---I had the same code on a 01' Silverado and i replaced 1 of the valves that was not holding presure and the code quit.

this all started when it got @ 0-5 degrees for a week here in cincy. It also pulls the code P1415 "bank 1" air system. Would that tell me what side of the engine. Are those the round black things on each side of the engine? Thanks for the help guys. Gotta love this site!

Yeah it is that thing about 2" long the hose goes on one end and the AIR line on the other -has about a 1" nut on it--Bank one is the driver's side---cold weather might have frozen some of the moisture in it and also probably full of rust-exhaust condensation is common to check to see it the air pimp is running--disconnect the hose on the drives side--Start it up cold then feel and see if air is being pumped--it only runs for about 2 mins at cold start--if it is running thaen more than like it is the check valve--If you have headrs--make sure the small hole in the air tubes on the primaaies is not carboned up closed
