Engine code on the C5. Can I use the cable from my Escalade to pull the code?

Driving the C5 today, and it threw a code. I am wondering if I can use the Hypertech Power Programmer cable that I have for my Escalade, hook it to the laptop and download some software off the internet and pull the code?

I expect it's impossible, because this wouldn't cost me anything, and nothing with these Corvettes (or Escalades for that matter) is ever free!

If yall have any suggestions, please let me know!

Even cheaper and easier than that, you can pull the code right from the DIC...you don't need any scanner.

But I wonder if I can run Autotap or something similiar through a Hypertech cable?
