As I look through the tuner section, I really do not see much info or results from a predator tune. I had a 2005 GT and put a tune on it, and SOP there was a definite difference. I know that many like to go to tuners and have a custom tune done, but if you are running a stock Z06, a standard tune from a pre-programmed tuner such as a predator should do the trick right? Does anyone have dyno results from a predator tune
the best results from an out-of-box Predator tune is on an automatic trans C5 (mainly because it turns off Torque Management).
On 6 speeds, the OOB improvement isn't as great. But you could advance the timing by 4 percent, and lean out the AFR (but I would only do the latter using a wideband AFR setup).
My new VETTE magazine took a new LS1 engine and they put in stiffer push rods, new ZEX performance plugs and a FAST-FLASH Power Program in and dynoed it at 11 HP and 12 TQ at the crank. I don’t know if a Predator would do much more HP and I don’t see push rods and plugs netting anything (maybe 1 HP IMO).
This was stage 1 of 4 stages and they were buying components that worked together in stages from Comp Cams. The next stages included valve springs, retainers, guide plates and studs with 1.75:1 rockers (18 HP, 16 TQ) then added a cam (56 HP, 36 TQ) and finished with new FAST intake with 90 mm TB and larger fuel rails for a grand total of 64 HP and 40 TQ at the crank. (These #’s are cumulative not for each mod individually).
Just thought this might help and I thought it was interesting to see how these components worked together. Perhaps with all the mods the computer programer helped much more than 10 ro 11 HP in the end.

The tunes in the Predator will provide solid gains, especially in low end torque and throttle response.
Remember though, you are starting with a truly powerful car, unlike the Mustang, so the gains will not be as great in SOTP.
I just looked through some dyno sheets and did not see any from a stock C5, I have Procharger dynos, H/C/I setups, and even an STS Vette, but no stock C5s. I will look around and ask our GM tuner when I see him.
PM me with an email address so if I find one I can send it to you.
Most C5's have Torque Management. If I'm not mistaken,,the Z06's come stock with it OFF.
Its a computer program that LIMITS the Torque that your engine can provide to "protect the drive train" especially if you have an automatic. It only allows the throttle blades to open far enough to make the TQ limit. I don't know if it effects timing.
If you build a 500 HP engine with 475 ft/lbs OF TQ and you have Torque Management set at 300 ft/lbs,,,thats all the computer will allow it to apply to the drive train. Most tuners just turn it off if you have a manual trans or a ruggitized A4.
If you have a stock A4,,,,,it might shorten its life.
