Throttle Position Sensor

Just wondering if others have the same issue.

When scanning at idle or during deceleration I never see the throttle position go below 6%. This is on a manual transmission.

On the Grand Prix there is a throttle position relearn procedure, however it doesn't seem to work on the 'Vette.

Any Ideas?

If it closed the engine would die.

The Idle fuel cell is different than the deceleration fuel cell--Idle is cell 20 & deceleration is cell 21 .The two should not have anything in common --maybe only by coincidence.I have heard of an Idle relearn procedure but never of a throttle position relearn.You would have to check in the manual I guess. Also generally only cammed cars will have idle issues that force the IAC counts over 100.If you get the IAC counts over 100 then the idle will be adjusted with the throttle position
Not the right way they tell me to adjust idle--You want to get the TPS % as low as possible and the IAC counts under 100. I don't know if you have a cam or not--But if you are STOCK then the TPS should not be that high but closer to "0" at Idle---points to some other problem--Could be your LTFT's are way off (fuel trims) at idle or timing too low.

I think he is just talking about Absolute throttle Position -(SAE. TP)

Car is stock except for a Blackhawk intake. I am trying to learn the LS6 after being in the V6 Supercharged arena.

I am used to a 0% TPS at idle with IAC in the area of 80.

I am here to learn and if I am off base please correct me!

The intake will throw your fuel trims way off--drive it around for about 100 miles and it will try to relearn some--If it doesn't re-learn back to 0 fueltrims and close to 0 % TPS at idle--you should adjust the "desired airflow table " b4307 by adding a % to it globally and that corrects the high TPS % at idle
