I currently have 2.73s in a 99A4 and are currently looking for a used 3.42 diff. After doing alot of searching and reading here on the forum, I have come up with a few questions or senarios.

1. Custom tune only (keeping 2.73s)
2. Upgrade diff to 3.42 and no tune
3. Upgrade diff to 3.42 and get cutom tune

I know that the price goes up as you move down the list but I am curious as to performance comparisons between them. I dont race or anything but would love some seat of the pants stuff that everyone here seems to REALLY ENJOY!

I don't think that #2 is a viable option. Your shift points and rev limiter will be wrong.
