Default What do I look for when buying a used MM6?

I am looking for a tranny for my car and have a couple to go look at locally. How can I tell if the tranny is worth putting into my car. Mine work perfect - going forward - but pops out of gear in reverse, a real pain in the neck! I don't want to get burned.
Thanks for your help - David.

Have you adjusted the shifter?

I have adjusted the shifter itself. In fact I bought and installed an '06 Z06 shifter which comes with the front part of the shift linkage (the part the shifter base bolts into) and I adjusted it all the way back for max reverse. Even if you hold it in with a lot of pressure, it violently pops out and grinds like you don't know what you're doing. I dread using reverse!

Yes, I did use the neutral alignment pin to install the new unit.
Thanks.
