Default help help help installed cam lost 40RWHP

Ok lets cover the basics quick..

Previous
98 M6 114k miles, TSP LT's (no cats), LS6 intake, CAI, TB bypass, and corsa exhaust

340RWHP

Now... all the above plus
PRC dual springs, TSP harden pushrods, TSP 228R cam, LS2 timing chain, and Ls6 oil pump (ported)

Just got off the dyno.. stopped at 4kRPMs because it didn't sound right.. timing was put in place to get a good run out of it...tuner figured should have done 370ish on the first pull.. instead at 4k i was only at 300. I'm working on posting graph..

What could the problem be?

Also a quick question... what should my oil pressure with a ported pump be on a cold idle?

Was there a problem with the wideband reading? It looks like it doesn't start reporting until 3k even though the run started at 2k. Looks to be leaning out quite a bit too.

The cam being a tooth off would cause a drastic drop in power like that...

Did you get the cam gear lined up correctly. Like said above, 1 tooth off will make some serious difference..

Are you sure you have the correct length pushrods?

Rods were supplied by TSP with the cam as a kit.

i'm thinking i'm a tooth off as thats what everyone is leaning too... as for the wideband...we were just sticking it in my tail pipe which is probably the problem so we are gonna stick a bung in the connecting pipe when i go back...

I'd bet you a quarter you're one tooth off.

I always thought if you was one tooth off, the car wouldn't hardly run and would spit, pop, backfire, etc.. Maybe it depends on the cam profile.

Pull out 2-3 degrees of timing, richen it up to 12.5, and see where it goes to. If it's still not feeling good, abort, and go back to square one. 25-35psi, hot idle At wot, the wideband may not be dead on the money, but it is accurate enough to use, with the method you are using. I unplug the driver's o2, replace with WB, and unplug the pass side. That way, you do not have to weld a new one in.

Check to plug wires and plugs too, O2 sensors plugged in? Any codes? I bet it's something simple, at least I hope so for your case...

I totally agree, adding timing or fuel isn't going to affect that problem. It is unfortunate but it looks like the cam timing is off one tooth

Yeah, most likely, but I was giving him some quick simple things to try. I find looking first at simple things tends to keep folks from doing un-necessary work, instead of shooting for the sky right off the bat. His gut feeling may also tell him where to go with it, as well.

75% of all high tech problems have low tech solutions-Diagnose accordingly.

I believe his problem ended up being a bad plug wire. Talk about low-tech
