Default need a tuner/mechanic in okc

cant find a mechanic in okc...looking for someone who knows vettes and likes to do mods ...and can a 97 be TUNED...i was told it has a old school computer and isnt nearly tuneable and the 00 and up models.....is a tune the same as installing cp program..like diabo or other brand...or can other items be tweaked by the tuner that cp programs cannot do....thanks

You guys are overlooking SW Tuning. 97's are covered, and you guys missed the open house at the first of May. Stop by and check it out. 16 years of EFI tuning and design experience should have you covered.

1997's definitely CAN be tuned! EfiLive, LS1 Edit, Tunercat (Jet)...etc...there are tons of options out there to software tune your LS1. Don't let people tell you otherwise.

Wow thats only a couple miles west of my house!

For the money im really considering just getting a predator hand-held, not sure whats best for a stock 04 auto with 3.15 gears.

i contacted the sw place and they wanted 500.00 to tune my 97...claims he is the best...with a state of the art dyno ..the only one like it in the state...how much hp can a tune get!! seems cheaper to go w/nos...even though i wont...but...i have most of the bolt ons and would spend the dough if i was guaranteed 15hp ...my car runs perfect and i cant see how they can make more hp w/o more mods just by adjusting a few dewdads./..but i aint a mechanic....i have complete exhaust change header to catbacks ..air intake filter upgrade...2.73gears on an a4

Tuning can make a huge differnce in HP TQ and drivability. Depending on your mods you can get 15wrhp through tuning.

The 97 has a diff computer and most places don't have enough buss. to justify the software for a few 97's.

If the guy at SW can tune it and do what you want go for it. It's going to cost $400 - $500 for a dyno tune.

I had a 97 so good luck. I now have a 2004.

Yep, you truly do get what you pay for. Most people don't know the difference, as long as it goes down the street.
