Default Need help, what to get to track a 98 C5?

Just bought a 98 C5 6 spd. Has 112k. The car is in great shape but needs to be suspension tuned mainly. It has a F45 muti whatever, seems not to work. Maybe some upgraded shocks, something to bypass the F45. Sway bars, better springs. Also what to use in the spruce up the horsepower area, air intake, stuff like that. By the way, this site seems to be populated by real owners, very cool.

You'll probably have better luck in the autox and road racing forum:

This forum is aimed at engine management tuning.

Your F45 stuff has to be turned off in the BCM. Alternatively, I believe there's also a simple workaround (placing an appropriate load on the circuit) to keep the BCM happy if you swap shocks. Search is your friend here.

Welcome aboard.

Start the suspension off with Bilsteins and Hotchkis swaybars. The soft F45 springs will work fine on the street and actually aren't an altogether bad package. (soft springs, bilsteins and large swaybars = good bite) Also, find a dealer to turn off the F45 suspension.

For horsepower the low hanging fruit is air intake, headers, cat back and tuning. I recommend the Halltech intake, LG headers, GHL cat back and find a local tuner, preferably with a load control dyno.
