Default Please help fast. should I buy a predator?

My 01 automatic goes in the shop Monday for a gear change to 3:42 and a 2800 stall. I don't think the chevy dealer can rescale and I've heard that I may get a slip code after the torq install.??
I really want to install a shift kit real soon and think there will have to be adjustments then as well.
My question , is there a handheld that I can get to make these changes or do I have to do something more expensive??
The only other mods in my future is maybe a set of headers and maybe different tires.
Can a predator do all I want? Thanks for any advice!!
I have a HypertechIII now and know it is very limited.

the vinci/crane tuner will what you need. http://www.stealthram.com/vhptuner.htm

if i remember correctly, you don't need to recal the PCM for a gear change as it reads tire speed not driveshaft speed.

I would recommend the Vinci/Crane as well, read good things about it and it will have further potential in the future. I believe with the auto you need to make a change, with the MN6 you don't.

you must reprog after a rear axle ratio change on the A4. Has nothing to do with speedo accuracy though.

The GM tuner (GM Tech Tool 2) will only do factory available ratios. So for the A4 - it won't gear scale beyond the 3.15 ratio. The model Predator for that year has a bug in it when going past the 3.15
It can be corrected via a custom tune file available either from your Predator reseller, or Diablosport themselves.
