Yeah, but on 6-speed cars the General's "fix" is only to reprogram the PCM so that IF the column locks the car will be disabled. The "fix" does not prevent the column lock from happening in the first place. I'd rather NOT take that chance and get stranded somewhere!

do a history on your car..might be possible youre still under recall..they issued a initial recall on some 6 spds..they were going as far to replace the actuator in the column. theyve been locking ip since 97 and look where we are today..the new recall will be software related on 6spds..after 7 years youd think they would have actually figured out how to fix the problem..good luck
