Transaction with DJOXTON
I had a pleasure to meet Dwight Oxden in person today. Not only does he have two awsome C5's, (one converted to the 53 body, the other to a 63 split window.)he is great to do business with and a real gentelman. Made me feel real comfortable and welcome to his home and friend.
PS--Neither car is his wifes--Both His.

Thanks Gene, my neighbor Bruce and I felt like we had really met a great Corvette Guy when you showed up. Glad to know I can count on you for parts when I need them.
As far a the two vettes go, the old lady drives a 740BMW so she lets me drive the Chevy's.

Very nice conversion, the C5 to the '53 body style. Saw one at a car show my club sponsored. They aren't cheap either! Hey, it's only money.

There are two companies that I know of that are doing 53 conversions. The first one to market(and the one you probably saw at the car show) is by a company in the Detroit area called Magnasteer/Advanced Automotive. My 53 is the 2nd. built by Avelate Automotive out of the Tacoma, WA area. The first car is owned by a Chevy dealer in OR and as I understand it he doesn't show it. My car debuted at this years SEMA show in Las Vagas. The difference between the cars is dramatic with the Avelate looking more like a 57 than a 53 (Avelate says it's a design inspired by the 53)and the other car is more a replica of the 53.Both nice.

BIG NEWS FOR THE MISFITS!!! For XMAS AnalogGuy bought his wife a digital camera  going to drag us kicking and screaming into the late 1980's no matter what :_dupe: Even took some pics and ACTUALLY got them on to the PC monitor. My only question now, just where the h_ll is that and WHAT do I do now? :lolg:
For you that want to see an Avelate 53 go the DuPont Registry website, but the pics don't do the car justice. I heard that Ron Kimball did a photo shoot on the car, am waiting to see them but can't believe there will ever be any better. Couldn't make the Venice lunch today but Bruce & Judy and Mary Jo & I cruised up to Ft. Myers Beach. Ken and Michelle, we have to talk about a cruise there. Found a great spot. :chevy
