Re: shipping tires question? (aptb102)
Tires are really durable, so not much to worry about.
I bought one that was shipped via UPS ground, and was just wrapped in HD plastic wrap. Made it fine with no damage.
Just insure the tire for its value, so if it does get damaged, you get reimbursed.

I have found UPS ground to be economical and delivers in 3 to 4 days.
UPS insures first $100, it is .70 for each $100 after that.
You can plastic wrap two tires together at a time. Use 5 or 6 inch wrap from a hardware store. Works just fine.
If you ship UPS COD it takes about a week after the tires are delivered for UPS to get you your $$.

In the past, i have taped two together with strapping tape. I definately would nor bother with boxes, etc. I have used both UPS & FED EX. It seems to be cheaper to ship 2 tires taped together rather than 4 individual tires.
