SOLD!! Hurst Billet/Plus Shifter
Good morning,
I bought this off of a forum member a couple of months ago. Nothing wrong with it, my wife just doesn’t care for the side to side preload of it. It would be hard to miss the 2/3 shift. The price you pay for that is it definitely takes more effort to pull it over from the 3/4 gate to the 1/2 gate.
I’m asking $200 OBO shipped in the continental U.S.
Ben

Good morning,
I will also throw in the stock 20k mile lower box, minus the rod inside, if anyone is interested. The bushings and seals in it are in great shape.
I also forgot to put in the ad above that it comes with bolts, and I only accept PayPal.
Thanks

Correct. The Hurst shift has adjustable bias spring preload via hex socket screws and should have come with two (2) extra sets of bias springs that allow you to custom tailor the side to side tension. Maybe the OP didn't know that and could have possibly found a setting more to his wife's likely with some trail and error. Or since he bought it from another forum member, maybe the shifter didn't come with the extra bias spring or the installation instructions, which can be down loaded here;

Good morning all,
I appreciate the information fellas. After I installed it and it had a lot of bias, I did check them. It has the single, weakest spring in each side. Even backed off, it is still a tug to get it over into 1/2. Which at that point, as best I could figure, is just the return springs in the transmission. I believe the leverage you lose with the shorter throw is the cause. It didn’t bother me at all, but my wife didn’t care for it. I had no complaints. It wasn’t notchy, and didn’t have any noticeable vibration. I had installed the anti-venom mod at the same time. Just one washer.
Again, I really do appreciate you guys looking out for another seller you don’t know. This forum really is the best, and you guys rock.
Thanks again,
Ben
