Shipping Alternative For Large Heavy Items
I just wanted to post a shipping alternative that I have used and has saved buyers a ton of money. I just shipped 4 tires from NJ to IN and I paid $125 using Fastenal 3rd party logistics. UPS and FedEx quoted me $250. Fastenall is a nationwide hardware chain that has stores in most major cities. They have their own fleet of trucks and they ship big heavy stuff together with their products. It might take a little longer but worth the savings. I dropped off my tires at my local store late last Friday. They put them on a pallet and wrapped it in saran wrap. Put in on the truck the next business day, Monday, and off it went. Got to the Fastenal store in IN closest to the buyer yesterday. Much safer than using Greyhound. Only limitations are there has to be a Fastenal store near you and the buyer and as long as it's not a rush you're golden. Just access the website https://www.fastenal.com/en/22/3pl-t...arty-logistics , submit a request for a quote, they send back the quote if the buyer agrees to the price you drop off the tires and you pay the shipping fee. Really simple and makes sense. I just wanted to throw out another shipping option because the big boys are out of control. Let me know if you have any questions.

Greyhound bus is also an alternative and their website has an instant quote feature. I am going to call them for more info to make sure it is a viable option for larger items. Pricing is comparable or better than Fastenal. The only catch is that very large items (70"+ for longest dimension & over 100 lbs.) are not able to be shipped.

$125 seems like a lot...if you simply band them together with big zip ties or shipping tape you can usually ship 2 tires for about $40-50 anywhere in the lower 48 with FEDEX....I have done it many times...
I shipped 4 18" wheels 2 per box to Minnesota for under $125 using FEDEX
