FS: C5 4L80E Conversion Transmission Kit. NEW!
HI:
Just putting my feelers out to see if anybody is interested in a C5 Corvette 4L80E Automatic transmission conversion kit. Never installed
Transmission is build by RPM. This is a Yank Kit. Cost over $12,000.00 at the time.
Comes with all you see. If you have high horsepower or twin turbos this is the way to go.
You will need to get a billet torque converter plate and some wiring to finish the job. Your will need to segment you PCM program for this transmission which is not a big problem to do. You do need some good mechanical skills to install this system.
I can sell it for $5400.00 OBO plus shipping. Shipping will be by freight. Freight cost will most likely be around $ 300-$350
Installation is available. Just give me a PM with your year and type Corvette.
Any questions just PM me.
Thank You

Here is a link to a GM High Tech article that shed some light on what is involved putting it in.
This set up needs very little in tunnel modification as the article but you get the idea. This setup was made to fit in the tunnel but I would still give it extra room.
If you have high horsepower and want to beat anybody else with a standard transmission at the track? This is what you need.
Yank was the original designer of this kit when it first came out.( Let me add Commercial Kit for people who like to find things wrong in posts.)
Thanks.

RPM has mastered it and corrected the bugs, but as usual, they are the master to any transmission.

Might want to recheck your history on this transmission if you can but you won't be able to. This commercial kit was build by Yank and one person that some of you might know. It was never installed. As for non commercial custom kits I cannot say.
The member is right that they had problems with the transmission part built by Yank and that is why this one was sent to RPM to be gone through and built to thier Level 5 plus standards after it was received.
This kit has history and the subject of it is a sore matter between a few people that cannot be discussed here. It is the original design though and is one hell of a set up for Horsepower to the rear wheels.
