Originally designed to add stiffness to the C5 and C6 chassis, remarkably this ceramic coated plate alone has shown temperature-reducing qualities of 44F degrees on the C5 and 29F degrees on the C6 when compared to the stock tunnel plates.
On our "Thermal Tunnel Plate", to further reduce the radiated heat, we permanently bond our Original “Thermal-Abs” shielding to the underside of our Tunnel Reinforcement Plates. The results are extraordinary.

These Elite tunnel plates are an awesome upgrade for a C5! My '01 coupe now travels over the concrete valley gutters in my neighborhood as well as my driveway ramp much more smoothly and with less harshness. I have to hit all of those at an angle to reduce the air dam dragging. The car is much more solid now when in those situations. Also, my flashlight in the center console is no longer warm to the touch as it always was before. They definitely help with reducing the interior temps, no question. Don't listen to any negative commments out there as these tunnel plates are well worth it!

Even tho they are not in this special i ve bought and install their 3/8 inch tunnel plate(always want the biggest i can get 
) and its really a nice piece

Put my tunnel plate (with abs) in two years ago while installing LG Street Pros, could not believe the improvement in handling (squeek in Targa top went away as well) and temperature reduction. Worth every penny. If you are adding C6Z06 Shocks, C6Z51 sway bars (got these from Gene) you should have this part as well to complete the total package
Also I put in their radiator screen...after I found a bird, a plastic bag and leaves jambed up in the radiator. Yes the bird was well done and a little dry to my liking.
