Sure thing Dave. I didn't realize I missed those emails. I will double check and shoot you an email over.

The 2nd Premium Layer is an Ensolite material, comprised of a closed cell foam inner layer, with a rubberized foam outer finish, but a very thin layer of the rubberized foam material, so as to be as flexible as needed. It is easy to cut and shape to your needs as well, and we pre-cut the pieces for you, off our templates, just as we do with the standard MadMat insulation kit.
Here are some manufacturer specs:

Specifications:
Thickness
1/8 (.125) inches Length
36 inches (sold by the yard) Width
56 inches Square Feet
14 per linear yard Polymer
PVC/NBR 25% Compression Resistance
1.5-3.5 psi Water Absorption
0.1 lbs/ft² Tensile Strength
30 psi Elongation
125% without damage Flammability
MVSS302, FAR 12 Sec. Vert. Flotation

Do you suggest a spray adhesive for the install?

How many square feet are in the kit?

How many square feet are in the premium layer?

I am very interested in the product and I have read EVERY post in this thread from beginning to end.
* not one person has complained about the quality of the product.

* most internet vendors do not charge the customer until the order has been shipped. Some may put a hold on the funds (credit or debit card). If it is a custom built product, like this one, then that is perfectly reasonable to do.

*I genuinely believe Tim takes pride in his work, and is a great craftsman. However, it sounds like he needs to hire an office manager or purchase a good piece of software that will help him track orders and emails with a few clicks. I saw many "I missed that email..." or "I don't know why it didn't ship with the last one..." comments from Tim. You mentioned that when you gain capital your business will grow, but you are losing potential capital from the poor customer service reviews. You have to think of the time you spend answering emails, PMs, phone calls... and realize that this time would be better spent making the product, since YOU are the only one that can make it. Anyone can take care of the other stuff. This will afford you the time to have a surplus ready to ship. Take out a loan to hire, if need be.

Disclaimer
: I have made these observations based solely on reading every single post in this thread. I have never had any form of communication with Tim, nor have I ordered from him... yet.

Mr. Madvette- I took the time to read, analyze and provide my honest opinion/advice (whatever you want to call it) because I think this is a great product and I don't want your business to fail just because you can't keep up with all the other stuff.

I cannot afford this kit quite yet, but I hope you are still around when I do get the $$$.

Cheers.

No spray adhesive is needed, but if used, I recommend that you use it on areas where there are no wiring or any items you may need to untape in the event you need to do maintenance for the Vette or its wiring.

80 square ft. of material is in the normal kit, and 50 sq. ft. of material is in the premium kit.

Of course, if you have any other questions, feel free to call me or email me at sales@madvettemotorsports.com

Thanks!! This is an old thread, with many pages, that have seen the business grow very quickly, and demand for our quality product increase unbelievably quick!!

I am not aware of what other vendors do, but we don't do our payment that way for several reasons:

1.) We never want to have any credit card info for a customer on file, and new laws prevent us from having it on file, in order to protect the consumer.

2.) Paypal doesn't do a 2 part payment or a hold on a card, so it is not possible for us to process payments this way.

3.) Our custom built products include many, many items, and a full payment on our items is our way of insuring your spot in the queue, and also to protect us from a client backing out on a custom order when we are 1/2 done with it. We always want to make sure you get the product you want, and won't be able to get from another vendor with the same quality I insist on delivering.

Actually, Tim worked with me for a while, and got a call from a private military firm to do work serving our country. I am Dave Hale, the owner, and fabricator. I am opening our new shop, which is now almost 4,000 sq. ft. and will be able to meet the demand we have met this past year. I have several resumes' from potential new hires to manage forum posts, emails and phone calls, as well as a new hire to help me in the shop.
A lot has changed since the date this thread was started.

Thanks!! I will never go anywhere, and now we are expanding to better meet the demand that we have received in the past 3 years of massive growth.
I continue to push the envelope, develop new products that meet and exceed the customers expectation of quality you will never find anywhere else, and with the new changes and expansion, we plan to be able to meet the expected fast shipping, while never compromising the quality of the work we put into our products.

Thanks again for your post, and if you have any other questions, feel free to call me or email me at sales@madvettemotorsports.com

Amazon.com, newegg.com, buy.com, etc... I could name many many more. They don't charge until the item is shipped.

This is what the "hold on funds" is for. It's not charged, but a hold is put on the amount of the invoice. In your purchase agreement you stipulate that it is custom built, blah blah blah and if they back out, the hold will turn into a charge.

Anyway, glad to hear you guys are expanding and meeting demands. I look forward to purchasing a product in the near future.

I've had some slow PM transactions back and forth with someone from MadVette and I guess he's going to send me a label to ship it out to someone else on the list. But I just emailed him to find out if it would be easier to hand it to someone instead if they lived in the area (I'm in Los Angeles County).

I haven't pulled it out of the box, but from what I can see, it looks "as described". When it arrived I couldn't figure out what I'd ordered that'd be in a box like this. LOL I was thinking "Is this some sort of dangerous package? Who did I **** off?" LOL. Eventually, I open the box to see the kit and a roll of the special tape. Obviously I was confused since I'd canceled a month or two before. So I PM'd madvette to see what the deal was. Apparently they just forgot to cross my name/address off the list.

I was tempted to just send him the $205 (or whatever it was with shipping) and keep it, but I realized it'd be pretty messed up since you guys are on the waiting list still and I got out of line.

Anyway, if one of you are in the area and on the waiting list, it may be faster and cheaper (for all those involved) to just do a "meet you in the middle" sort of thing. I'm constantly on the road lately going from the San Fernando Valley to Newport Beach for shooting. So it'd be no big deal to make a stop on my way in whatever direction.
pm sent

Sent you a pm. Phones have still been sketchy, and we lost power again this weekend after these storms and tornadoes. Hopefully, they are getting everything back to normal this week. Email is sales@madvettemotorsports.com as well.

Thanks Joe!! We are happy to be expanding, and hiring new people to keep up with the demand. It's exciting and nerve wrecking at the same time. It takes hard work to be rewarded with the big sales, and that is what I'm constantly pushing towards.

Because of the continuing issues, I'm going to suspend the posting privileges for Dave at Madvette and suggest that he not take any further orders until he can clear out the backlog of paid, but unfilled orders. I'll also lock all of his threads.

This is the second time this year we have had to take this action. Again, it doesn't seem to be an issue on quality of work, nor does it appear Madvette Motorsports has ever taken payment and refused to deliver an order. The problem always comes back to missed deadlines, unfilled promises and failure respond to phone, e-mail and PM messages from customers.

When Dave elects to respond on the status of his pending orders, I'll share that information with you. Meanwhile, please let me know via PM if you have a pending order that has not been filled so I can make sure your order doesn't fall through the cracks.
