03 Z 06's came w/M12 6 spds. You sure it's a T/56, or are they the same?

All C5's came with T56's. The Z06's (01-04) came with M12 (2.97 first gear) and regular Vettes came with MM6's (2.66 first gear).

The C6's (05 to 07) also have T56's. 08 they went to TR6060's.

That is an excellent price for a low mileage M12! Free bump.

I've had a Coupe, and now a Z, they shift the exact same.

If you want to deal with honest people, these are the guys and gals to do it with. Colton is a stand up guy who does exactly what he says. I bought the tranny on the 18th, he had a crate built and shipped it the same day. I received it Friday in perfect condition, its the cleanest used part I have ever bought. It looks brand new, if the internals work as good as the outside looks, this is a smoken deal. Thanks guys, you are the best I've dealt with.

Not my car 00 FRC, nothcy as a Bitch, I dont get it, I am about to replace the shift box to the RSD Snap shifter will see if that helps. I hear the C5 box is a POS anyway. What are your thoughts? I have a thread up about my shifting issue.

Mine shifted pretty dam good til the rear broke. I've got the hurst shifter in mine, (thought I had the mgw) when we first put the spec clutch in it with the ram master cylinder it would shift worth a crap. Then Jim put the new tilton in it and shifted pretty sweet. With the new z06 tranny I'm hoping for as good if not better since it has 90,000 less miles then my old one did. Plus its 2.97 first gear and the c5 2.66, should help the bottom end a little. We should have it back together Tues. or Wed.

I don't know any solutions for you, I'm far from an expert...

I owned a '01 coupe, and a '01 Z. They shift exactly the same for me. I don't know how I'd describe it, but it doesn't feel abnormal to me. I've had 7-8 manual transmission cars prior to my Corvettes, both my vettes feel normal.

I've test driven 3 other vettes, and also a friends. The friend had a MGW short throw, which I loved. But all in all, they all felt very similar (minus the MGW).

Throw a post in the tech section maybe someone with some expertise can give you some ideas.
