Mild Cam & LS6 Heads – 60 rwhp
This is the set up I ran in my ’02 Vette (LS1) for about 3,000 miles. I wanted good low and mid-range power. Worked great and increased my stock rear wheel horse power up about 60 hp. Drivability is not affected at all with this rather mild modification combo and it passes smog fast and very clean.
Heads: GM 1256-4243-B (243) LS6 with 918 upgraded springs
Cam: Synergy custom grind 220/220/114 +2 .568/.568
I recently went a bit more aggressive with AFR heads and a little taller cam. I used the push-rods off these heads otherwise everything is still there. Great setup and a cost effective way for a LS1 to gain measurable hp and yet still be a sleeper. The dyno sheet in the photo is from the original installer and shows 378 rwhp with this setup. I never took a base line dyno but most stock LS1’s are probably around 315 rwhp.
Let me know if you have any questions, these puppies aren’t going to do me any good sitting in my garage.
$500 for both ($450 heads & $150 heads if separate) - plus 50 bucks to ship ‘em.

Oh man am I tempted. Funds are low and I'm waiting for my insurance to reimburse me for my medical costs. Well BUMP for a cool setup. I also know a few people who went to Synergy to have their cars tuned. One of the guys has a Silver vette with blacked out tail lights...lol I know pretty generic. Don't know if he's on here but goes by Punisher on another board.

Just barely... like some other guys here, I didn't fully share with my wife why I drove the car all the way to San Francisco for a "tune up". She would sometime comment - "you drove all that way and the car sometimes seems to idle rough" - I'd just smile. Honey, you have no idea how much that rough idle cost me!
Seriously, you would be hard pressed to tell it from a stock idle but there is a tiny bit of hood shake on occassion if the rpm's go too low. I would say the idle is so smooth you could sell the car as stock and no one would question you.

I'm going to hold off selling separate for today (Sunday) as I've had lots of inquiries about selling either just the cam or heads. If no one steps up the plate on a package deal then I'll respond to the folks who want them separated on Monday.
There is a bit of sideways hood movement at idle due to the lope.
This is not a monster cam by any stretch of the imagination and the lope at idle isn't going to scare any old ladies or small children that a monster is under the hood trying to get out... Gotta admit we guys just love that stuff. Only problem with big cams is they don't make low end power, hate to be lugged down in rpm's, and won't pass smog. This cam makes low/mid range power, has no problems with being lugged (drivability), and passes smog easily. Again it's a pretty common cam maybe your local installer can describe it's characteristics and the lope better than me.
BTW... I did a little search on this forum and found the following regarding stock Z06 cams - just an FYI
'01 LS6 .525/.525 lift, 204/211 duration, 116 LSA
'02-04 LS6 .551/.547 lift, 204/218 duration, 117.5 LSA
