Ohhh, NEW STUFF, VaraRam VR Powerduct Air Bridge
VaraRam VR Powerduct Airbridge
After hundreds of hours on the flow bench comparing the VR design to the very best
the competition had to offer, VaraRam is proud to present the VR power duct for the
C5 Corvette. VaraRam only flow tested through the throttle body because flowing air through
the duct by itself tells you nothing of its true flow capabilities as delivered into the intake manifold.
The key to its performance is in its Patent Pending reverse venturi design with integrated rear air horn.
It's not about making a bigger hole for airflow, its about streamlining the existing airflow while increasing the
overall volume delivered at the highest possible velocity at each RPM level through the MAF and throttle body!

Other Features Include:
1. Relocated MAF position- moved the MAF closer to the motor for a cleaner read,
a must for any heads cam or stroker motor cars.
2. Superior quality in construction- Here we use a resin reinforced Crosslink Material
that is set at a specified charge weight for strength and longevity, More expensive,
yes, but 50% stronger than other systems.
3. Full adjustability- this enables the unit to fit a wide range of intake and filter combinations
so you can use the VR power duct even if you don’t have a VR-B2 system.
4. Positive clamp rings front and rear
a must for any heads cam or stroker motor cars.

A few questions
do you have a picture of the inside?
How does re-locating the Mass airflow sensor affect performance
how would it compare to other "power ducts" like mine:

moving of the mass air
I was wondering also what the purpose of moving the mass air flow is. I have honestly never seen or heard of this approach in either C4, C5 or C6 cars? Logically looking at it, I would think that because its so far close to the throttle body that you would have several issues.
1. Heat soak from being that close to the engine.
2. For the C5 cars with no catch cans, I would think PVC oil blow-by might backsplash through the TB contaminating and possibly ruining the mass air flow sensor?
3. Because of the location, would you have clearance issues having the balancer pulley and the main coolant hose right under it/next to it?
Can you possibly let us all know.

Drifting
I wouldn't think there would be any issues with relocating the MAF.
There is at least one aftermarket company that sells intakes (other than Vararam) that relocated the MAF.
Also, the F-bodies have their MAF very close to the TB, just like this.
They have no issues.
As far as oil from the PCV system getting on it, I dont think you have any oil residue on the TB beyond the butterfly, so I think that is a none issue.
I'm ordering one, but now I guess I'll have to sell my smooth air bellow that I just bought a month ago!!

People have relocated the MAF's for years. A lot of HC cars relocate the MAF to get a better read. Also VaraRam has sold units for the C6 with the relocated MAF for several years now and I personally have never heard of any negative affects.
As for the PCV, there is no "oil splash" There is no oil flow through the PCV. It is oil saturated air (vaporized)

Negative, Electrical tape does not make a good "color changer" You'd be better off with black duct tape or a rattle can.
Or you can order custom sized/color couplers from here: http://www.stylinmotors.com/couplers.html
you can get them in black, red or blue
