Vett vs. Stang Who has…
You cannot help but notice that there is just a little hostility between Corvette and Mustang owners, and I was just wondering how many others out there besides me that own both???

I have had both but not at same time. They don't even compare. You never see car mags compare the two. Only thing Mustangs has is that it cost less to make faster in straight line.
You might be able to compare the two if Corvette had a V6 option, cost 25K, had a back seat, and every third car you see on road was a Mustang.

It is strange that Mustangs try to compare themselves to the Vette. They are apples and oranges. IMO probably because they don't have the Camaro to compare to anymore.

No hostility here...like them both...but there is a lot of hostility around the Corvette Forum...for sure...!
...so you wont catch me looking at them anymore

I have owned both and enjoyed them both. My 98 Cobra had a modded suspension, full Bassani exhaust and a tune and ran awesome. I did hand a few Vettes their hats and got mine handed to me a time or two as well. I loved that car, but sold it so that I could buy my 04 Z06 which is my first Vette...ain't I lucky!
There is no way to compare the two cars...I appreciate both, but I wouldn't give up my Z06 for my Cobra...I'm hooked!

I've had both (66, 69, 94 mustangs) and (00, 02 vettes). I have had fun with both, but am really hooked on the vettes now. Still curious to see what ford does for the 2007 SVT Cobra though.

I definitely like the look of the new mustang, and think it's a pretty good deal for a cheap car. When I use to race SCCA, a lot of guys ran modified class Mustangs, and can recall one of them saying: "It goes pretty good, and the best thing, if you rack it into a wall, it won't bother you too much because it doesn't cost you $50 grand to replace"
As far as Maslow's hierarchy of cars go, yes, the Mustang is lower on the triangle than the vette, but than again, if I had a Ford GT..

In my younger years, I had a '79 Cobra and an '84 GT. Both nice and fun cars to drive and I had a blast with them. No way I would give up the Vette for a Mustang, but for a second car, they would work just fine. I think Ford has done a good job with the new version of the Mustang.

I had both. The late model Cobra's (blown) are a nice ride for the buck. Not necessarily a 'vette level performer mind you but they are very respectable. Lot's of mods out there too. Had an '02 F150 Lightning as a daily driver that was simply a blast to drive and another story entirely.
