I forgot to ask, anybody know all the options in the '00 Vert for that year. I know it has HUD but not sure about the suspension, etc.

Also, besides paintwork, service history, etc. what other things would you ask about?

Thanks.

Sorry not sure what that is. Was selective ride control for adjustment to a stiffer suspension on the fly?

Suggest that you post this in the C5 For Sale forum - more visibility there.

Sorry for the confusion. It's not a car I'm selling but considering buying. Just wanted to get the some expert opinion on the options and things to look out for this '00 vert. Thanks.

Sounds like it is pretty well loaded; the mag wheels were a $2K option in Y2K. Selective ride was option code F45, and it's a three "mode" suspension option using electronic shocks - based on the shot of the console in the ad, this car doesn't have it. The other suspension option was the Z51 performance package, which they don't call out, so it may or may not have that. Looks like a nice 'vert - they aren't too far off the money, imho, for a low-miler like that.

I did a bit of research recently and a low mileage loaded 2000 vert seemed to be around $32k to 35k. They have to be totally original tho. No aftermarket stuff. The price drops significantly once the condition goes down and the miles go up of course.

I picked mine up in Aug 03 for $30k and it had 22,500 miles on it at the time. I felt like I had stolen it then. Good luck

Fair it waht you think, not everyone else, if you think it is a good deal and you are happy then that is fair. You'll always find someone that got you exact car for 1/2 the price.

FWIW,
I got this off e-bay for $32,100..........
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/showthread.php?t=904208
and it has the Z51 package as well.
IMHO this could be worth asking price if as described, no paint work, all paperwork and history..........take it for a ride!

Good luck

Default car

i got my 01 coupe w polished wheels hud dual power seats auto evrything but cd changer and selective ride suspension for 27900 from a dealership (gm certified) 28000 miles car was listed for 29900
so that sounds like a fair price
although the year difference can make up a lot in price for instance i could not find a 2002 anywhere for less than 32000
i think you could get a 2000 vert cheaper than that

Seems reasonable but maybe could be had for a bit less. Looks nice and has many of the desirable options. Good luck should you decide to purchase this car.

Thanks all 11 of you for the input, I appreciate it. I spent about an hour looking at it this afternoon and have decided to pass on it.

If anyone wants a full report on it please let me know but these are the issues that led me to my decision:

1. Smoker car - cig. lighter was pretty bad. At least they were honest, didn't try to replace with new one.
2. 2 of the 4 rims had some noticeable scuff marks on them.
3. About 5-7 very noticeable marks inside that may not be easily be removed e.g. by the speakers, some damage, etc.
4. Many marks on the paint all over the body e.g swirl marks, thin 1"-2" scratches, other marks.
5. It drove okay, probably needed new exhaust
6. Tire pressure low on RR but rubber seemed okay
7. Top in pretty good shape

Also, did some research on the VIN in case anyone's interested. Looks like they bought it for about $31K back on April 14, 2004 and put in about $2,500 in it (didn't verify paperwork on that though). They're losing money on it but it I wonder why they couldn't sell it for the past 7 months. Maybe because some of the issues I listed above. If I were interested I would definitely have a Chevy dealer perform a full inspection before buying it to make sure about all other issues.
