Hasn't happened to me, but when I bought my car, on the drive home I noticed that above 80 there was a buffeting noise coming from the passenger door area. At first I thought it was some loose weatherstripping but my wife later flipped down the passenger side sunvisor and I saw that the doofus dealer hadn't checked the roof latches.... the passenger one was OPEN!

After reading the stories of FRC members on this forum I am very careful about latching the top. My non-membership is likely due to the FRC members, so thank you FRC members for sharing! My hats off to y'all!

I am not now nor will I ever be a member of the FRC! When I put the top on it's one motion, top on, latch top down!

I'm not and hope never to be in it. I have read this type of thread several times over the last year that I get very conscious of the latches every time I take the top off. I try to drive to or from work (both if I can) with the top off everyday so that probably helps.

Fortunately I have never had this happen to me. I always latch the top down right after placing it back on the car.

I'm a life time member.
Once you join, I understand you can't get out of the club.
By the by, it's costing the insurance company $1600 for a painted replacement. I'm thinking about making the old damaged roof a coffee table. Anyone interested in an unusual conversation piece?
