Thanks in advance

Possibly both, although I've disconnected my battery many times and after reconnection, had no problems with the fobs, and the radio presets were still there.

If you have your radio locked with your personal code your radio will automatically lock if you disconnect your battery. When you hook up a new battery, or the old one for that matter, the radio will display LOC when power comes back on. So, make sure you know your radio un-lock code if it is locked.

Just read this in LS1howto.com for the header install.
Re-attach the battery, insert key, turn to ON, hold down both Lock and Unlock buttons until the car honks.
Should reset and restore all settings.
The headers in my sig are going on in the morning. So if I blow it, I'll be sure and re-check this thread

My battery died in the garage and I didn't get a chance to replace it with an Optima Red on the same day. However, I didn't have to reset anything. Only thing that wasn't right was one of the tire sensors. One of them was reading blank, but that fixed itself during the drive.

When I changed my battery I made a memory saver with a 9v battery and an old cigarette lighter plug. I wired a 9v battery clip from Radio Shack to the plug , stuck on a battery & plugged it in. Simple & cheap insurance.

When I put the RedTop in my '00 the radio locked and I lost the clock and radio presets. I didn't have the code for the radio so i used the procedure I found on the forum and had it unlocked in less than 5 minutes. Key FOb, tire sesors were fine.

You could lose both but normally all I have lost is the radio.

I just could not stand it any longer so I went out and disconnected the battery. I waited 1 hour (had to do something else) and when I reconnected the battery my radio had the loc on it. Also the key fob needed to be reset and the radio clock needed to be reset.
Hope this helps someone. If your going to autozone or sears or whereever and get a new battery make sure you know you radio code or at least de-activate the radio loc until you put in the new battery.

Better yet...don't bother using the Theftlock feature. Who wants to steal a factory deck??? Heck, all the thieves know they can walk over to any Ricer and just pull out their deck in no time.

All I lost was the time on the clock. Weird that that's the only thing...

I use one of these, even in the winter time. Never had any issues. Just a little piece of mind.
