I was 34 when I got my car. I hope that's not my mid-life number!
1 friend calls me "mid life" now...

my first true sports car was a 300zx turbo great car then came the harley low rider but when i got the vette thats when i knew this is what i was looking for. if an object can give you a thrill everyday then why not enjoy it. i don't know many cars that are this much fun to drive no matter what age you are.

I just admit to myself and everyone else that I'm living in a perpetual mid-life crisis and move on.

Buying the vette is not a sign..... Getting caught with some young hottie in it just might be!

Default Not a crisis

I just purchased my 4th vette in September, a MSG 2004 coupe. I turned 54 this past May. Believe me it's not a crisis, just something to have some fun with. Life is too short.

Good motto to live by ...

life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand-strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up,torn worn out and screaming WOO HOO WHAT A RIDE

I have no problem telling people my C5 reminds me of my hot rod youth, building cars for the 1/4 mile, etc. Keeping your inner child alive is an important aspect of a fulfilling life, and shame on the prudes that can't/won't. Besides, mid-life crisis is a tired cliche'. My life has been one continual series of crisis, so I learned to maximize the enjoyment at each phase.

I'm 56, and just got my 'mid-life-crisis' toy just 10 days ago. Not sure if anyone notices or not, and really don't care. What a trip to experience all that raw horsepower, experience the ride, and most of all, BUY AMERICAN muscle, not some overpriced import.

Not many understand that need to buy American Made anymore in the younger generation, which is to bad. The heritage is akin to baseball, apple pie, and Old Glory.

When people make that comment to me, I tell them I got my first vette when I was 19. I've had one ever since. I'm 40 somethin' now and on my 5th vette. (I hold on to them for awhile). So, I don't know how young or old you have to be to have a mid life crisis but in my case, I guess I'm in the same boat as Ls1Rat.

If I worried about what everyone thought or said. I wouldn't have bought my vette, let alone fart in public.
