Got My Z06 Titanium Exhaust installed!!!
Well, I just came back from having my Z06 Titanium Exhaust installed and boy do I love it!!!! Its exactly what I wanted in an exhaust. At idle, it no longer sounds like a motor boat, rather, its got a nice chug, chug chug sound to it. During normal driving, it sounds basically like the stock exhaust, but when you go WOT, that's where the magic happens. Its got a nice race car sound to it, basically a toned down version of what a Z06 sounds like on a race track. I love it. I think the sound is gonna get even better as time goes on too. I bought the Ti exhaust from a friend who keeps his Z06 in immaculate condition. He had less than 5,000 miles on it when he took it off and bought some borlas. My stock exhaust had 18,700 miles when I replaced it today and over the last two years, it had gotten much louder and had a nice sound to it at WOT. When I first bought her, it was extremely quiet. So now that I've got my Z06 exhaust, its on to phase two of my master plan. I want to get a set of either LG longtube headers or kooks installed with my Z06 Ti exhaust to complete my engine mods. All this with my blackwing and a good LS1 edit tune should give me what I want (for now )
One thing I did notice about the Z06 titanium exhaust is that there's a very, very slight light groan around 1500 rpm, its like a very weak resonance sound. The H pipe and everything else is still stock so I guess that's where that might be coming from. You really, really have to listen carefully and know what the stock exhaust sounded like to tell. (I was listening to every little sound to make sure everything was installed nice and tight). Also, it may be just me but she actually feels a slight bit stronger at WOT (its probably just the fact that she sounds nicer at WOT which makes me feel like I'm driving a race car!). All in all, I spent less than $500 bucks to buy and install it and am very happy with this mod!

Glad to see positive feedback about the Z06 exhausts. I just bought mine last Friday but haven't installed them yet. That'll be next week. I'm hoping for the same results. I don't want the "glass pack" sound, but I'd like to be able to hear something. One of the big selling features for me was the lack of resonance, or at least it's very minimum.

Here's a few pics I just took. I just love the way they look compared to the stock tips. My friend Dion even polished the whole exhaust system before giving it to me. It looked brand new. You should have seen the condition of my stock exhaust. It was peeling, full of gravel and the tips were really dirty (never had a reason to polish the tips even though I keep everything else nicely zainoed and dust free) BTW, I'm played hooky from work today to have the exhaust installed and to do some thorough "field testing"

Have had mine installed for about a month now and love them Although to me the "resonance" seems to be much better at 1500-1800 rpm, with the Z06 exhaust.
They sound and look soooo much better than stock
They do need to be adusted slightly for alignment, though.

I have a Z06 Ti exhaust and Bassani x-pipe on order for my 01 vert....I'm so glad to hear so many positive reviews for this upgrade!
Alex, where do you plan on doing your LS1 edit? I'm thinking about heading up to VetteDoctors in LI, I hear they do a great job....

there really isn't much adjustment possible.
it looks like the driver's side is a bit low. this might be caused by the muffler hangar having been put on backwards. easy to check by crawling under and reversing the hangar. top of the inner tip should be 1 3/4 inches from fascia. pretty car.
this is a great mod. no more "caddie" tips.
any questions, let me know.

Alex- great job on the install. The sound will change again once you install headers and X-pipe. More racey! (if thats a word)
