Well, to the military guys. I'm a boot to this forum. I'm from just north of Columbus, Ohio, 21yrs. old and I'm stationed in 29 Palms California with the USMC. Currently I'm in Iraq. Money from being here twice, etc. has allowed me to broaden my automotive horizons. I'm not a ricer by any means. (I hate stickers and spoilers unless they have a purpose, and an exhaust tip does not increase hp). I love road course racing, but dabble in wkd. drags. Currently I own a '99 Miata. I planned on building it up to take mustangs and F-body's, but came to the dead end of a custom $20,000 forged titanium transmission for 350whp DEPENDABLY. That's where I draw the line, so the miata is a corner carver, and now I need something that forces a smile by G's. Vettes are beautiful cars, and easy to make dependable hp out of. My only problem now is rationalizing the price difference between an early C5 or a Camaro of the same year.

Just joined in the Corvete forum about three days after I bought my first Vette. It's a 1999 Navy Blue / Black / Black Convert. At first I thought I wanted a pace car but I am very happy with this one, after all it has the HUD. Its a M6 with 27,000 on it. Oh I was supposed to say some thing about me...

Well the vette I got about a month ago, traded in A 2002 Z 28 with a six speed. The new vette is torch red and is an auto (had enough shifting gears) Myself I'm A carpenter for the last 27 years.

I worked a booth at the A&A open house a few weeks ago and got bit by the Corvette bug. Last Friday I purchased my first Vette, a 2000 A4 Black Convert. 40,000 miles and loving it. Just started ordering my first mods. MTI Ram Air, Borla 4 tip Stinger and Diablo tuner. Be prepared guys, I'm gonna have lotts of questions.

PS: I swear I have waxed this thing every night since I've had it.

I'm still a carpenter at heart. I spent 4.5 years self employed as a GC and retain my license to this day.

Hey Michael,

I may not be a newbie, but I'm glad I found this place over three years ago when I was thinking of buying my '02 Convertible.

I got more information and great advise from the CF members than anywhere or anybody else I had talked.

The only advise I can offer to anyone just joining the CF is take a look around the whole forum and get a feel for the other generations and what the 50 year history really means with this car

..................oh yeah......and be careful in Off Topic

Default new used vette owner

Just got my first Vette. A 99 hatchback, black/black with every option and both tops. Only had a little over 15M on it. It had everything I wanted except it didn't have chrome wheels. Paid a little over $25K at a dealer. Not sure if that is a deal or not but I love the car.

Hello all. Great forum indeed.

Been hanging around lurking a lot in the for sale forum. Posted a few times there so far.

I've wanted a Vette for as long as I can remember. Probably since around the age of 12 or so. One thing or another has kept me from the dream thus far. I'm now 42 and feel I can take the plunge. Well, sort of. Can't buy new but am in the market for a '98-'99 low mileage vert. It's only been a 30 year wait. Heh! Hopefully by the end of August I'll be posting my "Woo Hoo!!! New Vette owner!" post.

I have to admit, I'm really glad to have stumbled across this place. Tons of good info here. Especially for the newb like myself.

I guess that was a little more than two short lines but WTH.

David

gwanghoops here -- first time vette owner and basketball deviant (two foot surgeries @ 42 and still going). knew very little about the vettes other than they were hot and wasn't interested until my local credit union had a used car sale -- saw a 01 MY, got v-fever & almost bought on the spot.

i have a new 04 base coupe (i'm a cheap bastard) and am modding it slightly (z06 exhaust, hp wheels, next will be 3.42 rearend).

Hello Everyone!

I joined the forum 3 weeks ago, right after my second Corvette - 04 Coupe Black/Black was delivered. My first corvette was a 75 L-82 White/Blue that I unfortunately sold several years ago. After I sold the 75' I had a hard time not waving to every Corvette going down the road and have been dying to drive one again. I am an Executive Chef in research & development for a major food manufactuer. This is the best website I have ever found on the internet for my pride and joy and I just can't get enough! Thank you for the welcome Michael!

Im a newbie to the c5 section here, I bought an 02 Mag. Red and oak coupe a week ago with 16k on it. Its a 6 speed and so far im loving it. Ive been over in the C3 section with my red 78 for a few months prior though. Myself Im a BMW Diagnostic Tech by day to pay for the vette(s) and I enjoy speeding, giggling while i speed, and going, "holy crap, this thing is fast"
