Default Estimated value of a C5 I'm considering

A local fellow has a C6 on order and is going to be selling his 2004 C5 upon delivery.

It is a torch red coupe, automatic, with virtually all the options, and 11k on the ticker.

Any ideas on the value of this fine machine? Any hints on how much that figure would differ at the actual time of delivery of his C6?

Thanks in advance for any responses

Try looking up the prices by C&P'g this into your browser: http://www.nadaguides.com/SectionHom...Sec=1&wPg=1103

There'll be 3 catagories:
1) "Wholesale" ie dealers will pay on a trade-in.
2) "Private Party" or what one w/should expect to pay a private party seller (like your case)...&
3) "Retail" the price most dealers will expect.

Good luck.

For what your goona pay for this used on with 11 grand on it, you might just be able to fit yourself into a brand spanking new one, what with all the discounts GM and the dealerships are giving right now Just a thought

Brand new Black Corvette Coupes from Kerbeck are going for $10,000 off of MSRP. Chances are good that if your buddy doesn't want to deduct at least $10k off of what his original sticker was, minus whatever you can agree to for the 11,000 miles on it, you'd be better off finding a new one. The best thing he has going for his Torch Red is that they haven't manufactured that color in a couple of months now. So there probably aren't a bunch of Torch Red Coupes sitting on dealers' lots. That will raise the price up slightly since new ones are in limited supply. Same for Mag Red. Even though Kerbeck has a bunch of them instock, they might not give that same $10k discount on that color now.

Excellent point you've made there. So I went and checked with a couple of the local dealers here in town and find they are not inclined whatsoever to knock off near that much on a new 2004. Maybe a couple grand....with the sales manager's approval, of course.

I walked out and left while the salesman was supposedly "haggling" with his manager.

But since you made the point, I will check out some of the forum supported dealers here and see what's cooking.

Thanks!

Someone here just got 12,000 off a New 04 Coupe...with 0 miles and an A title... and a brand new 3yr /36,000 mile warranty..
Ive seen kerbeck give 13,000 off a new 04 Vert.
A used 04 with that much milage 11,000 .... should deduct another 5,000. it has 11,000 miles on it and you will lose 1/3 of the warranty. So I would say 15,000 to 17,000 off MSRP would be about right.. of course this guy wont understand that...

Absitively and posalutely right. I did 11K off a vert 4 months ago and I've seen them here for 13K off now. Granted, a more expensive car, but Evil is right on the money. Others that don't know about these deals might quite likely pay more than that, but you DO know about these deals. A future buyer might also be leery toward someone selling a car before it was 1 year old.
