Default history channel

I watched the history channel one evening and they talked about how mr chevrolet got the idea for the bow tie.He stayed in a Hotel room which had wall paper with bows on it and he thought that would be a good idea to use to put his name on so he tried it writing on the bow on the wall and he liked it so much that is what he came up with for the chevy symbol. It was an intresting program.

Just a slight modification. It was William C.Durant of GM who came up with the Chevrolet bowtie reportedly copied from the wallpaper he saw in a Paris, France hotel in 1908. It became the Chevy trademark logo in 1913 after GM acquired them.

It sucked that using the Amercian Flag wasn't used because of the "commercial" application when they first started. I would've rather seen that then some Frenchy Emblem! Get the "Time Life 50 Years of Corvette" DVD. It's go some other pretty cool stuff. Got mine from Best Buy a few months ago.

West Coast Corvette has replacement flags for your emblem. You can replace the French Chevrolet Emblem with the American Flag.
