Please settle an arguement at work.ty
I have an 04 Coll Vert auto 3:15 Z-51.Only mods are Borla stingers and a Granetelli Air intake system w/ the bigger piece that goes over the Rad.I strongly believe that it will run in the 12.9's up here in cold NY.People at work say it won't break into the 12's.Whos's right and what is an average time that should be expected.
Thanks
Derek

Only one way to find out what your car, at your track, with your driving will do. Alot of variables there to work out.
I've never been in an automatic C5, so I can't say, although the thread about a stock auto not being able to spin the tires from a stop made me scratch my head.

I would say no.... unless you got one of the strong cars from the factory. Itll probably be real close though.

My old stock 97 auto 3.15 with a k&n ran 12.97-12.95@109 every single time over 10 runs at two diff tracks........maybe I got one of the "stong ones"?

In good air and a well prepped track it is definetly possible. Only one way to find out for sure!

Shiftpoints would also affect it, as well as weather & track (prep).

Also depends on the track elevation. That can make a big difference. If you don't get into the high 12s, you will definitely be in the low low 13s.

Do you have any baseline runs?
I think it will make it.
Go for a road trip and come down to the Corvette Challenge at E-town, NJ this weekend.
Or you can race it in Buffalo on Jun 4th http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=818031

Re: Please settle an arguement at work.ty (REDGAR)
I squeaked a 12.99 @ 108 out of my '01 when she was stock with 2.73 gears. The key will be your 60', I got a 1.94 on runflats for my 12.99 run. With 3.15s and your other bolt-ons you should be able to pull it off.

13.08 stock 01 w/ 2.73's and bald run flats...... there's a 2.73 '03 auto on the board that pulled a 12.87 stock so anything is possible.

Do a burn out in some pine resin and stage as shallow as possible. I think thats all you can do to help your situation. Should be darn close being as you are running on those magical east coast tracks.

Maybe they make the tracks downhill on the east coast?

Yes RT 66 near Chicago is where they just set some NHRA records.
As far as hitting 12s. make sure you dont have a full tank of gas, put your shifter in "3" and raise your idle a few rpm when you launch if the track is hooking good. Practice your launch. Also play the weather, go to the track when the barometer is high and humidity and temp is low.
I think its a 50/50 chance you will do it.

Unless you are at a super fast track out East or get perfect weather and track prepped conditions, etc., you will probably come up a lil short and run around a 13.2 or 13.1 in my opinion. Throw on some 3.90 gears and a Yank Prothruster 4000 stall or a hard hitting Yank 3600 SS converter or so and drag radials (BFGS), and watch your 1/4 mile times drop a full second by just doing these two mods and you will then see ALOT OF JAWS DROPPING!!! Then thow in cam and long tubes and you have yourself a consistent reliable mid to high 11 sec. something daily driver street/strip C5!!!!
