Re: 04 Shocks (smook)
I'm glad I waited and read all the reviews. I like the ride and I don't track the car yet, so I'll stay with the stock shocks. Thanks to all for the reviews.

IMO, for what's it worth. I traded my '02 Vert MN6 for an '04 Z06 (Torch Red) . It's alot stiffer ride and I'm gonna love that at the auto-cross races but, I had some wheel hop at test and tune day at Beech Bend (1/4 mi drag first time out 13.2- 109mph.) But I'm still learning about the Red Beast. Very glad I traded for a new Z06. It will be some time before the C6 Zs' come out, & I couldn't wait that long. Just tring to keep it straight and between the cones. Hemmerman :flag :flag :flag :flag :flag

Re: 04 Shocks (ZO6Lee)
Shocks are only part of the equation. I think a majority of the peole complaining about handling issues during normal everyday driving will benefit by simply getting a quality alignment done with some conservative settings. Where the '04 shocks excel over previous year model versions is the transitional response. My '02 shocks felt mushy and slow in response at auto-x's. The '04 shocks are quicker to recover and provide better control as you pitch the car in higher speed, higher lateral g manuevers. Your normal daily driver is simply going to see the '04 shocks as rougher, more bumpy replacements.
That said, it is very true that the ride quality will degrade with the '04 shocks. DUH. :p:

As said earlier as well, unless you're going to track your car, it's not worth the change.

Re: 04 Shocks (GTB/ZR-1)
I didn't notice that much of a difference as far as ride quality goes; however, there is an important difference even on the street, assuming you take some turns with gusto. The rear end on a Z06 will get loose in a turn when it encounters surface irregularities such as tar strips; the '04 shocks made that characteristic disappear entirely, at least on mine.

In all honesty I doubt that I personally would be able to tell the difference and I would spend my money elsewhere. Most people want what they do not already have. After someone spends a lot of money on a mod they usually insist that they can tell the difference, even if the difference is extremely slight. This helps to justify the cost of the mod.

Re: 04 Shocks (rbartick)
I don't understand why anyone would want a stiffer ride on the street? :skep: I can see the handling aspect of autocross or at the track, but for an everyday driver I'm out of the loop.
