Default On the subject of cleaning, what tire dressing..

.. do you use, if any? I've had reasonably good luck with the foam dressings but they don't last long. I hate the kind that stays too liquid and sprays up the sides of the car. :mad

Some of us old timer car nuts probably remember using brake fluid! Yikes! Just interested in what y'all use. Thanks for any ideas! :)

Turtle wax makes a great tire dressing ... the best IMO. It is the only product I have ever used that truly does not spin off at all and it gives a nice even shine to the tire. There is a fairly new product called Enduralast http://www.lord.com/DesktopDefault.aspx?tabid=231 that is supposed to give the same wet look 6 months after application. I haven't tried this one yet but would be interested in opinions from those that have  .

I use Armor-All Detailer's Advantage Tire Foam.

It doesn't dry too wet and keeps a pretty good look for days. I use it mosty for its simplicity. I've got some Black Magic Tire Wet but it's messy and too glossy for me.

side note: my chalet in the mountains is reserved and I'll be heading your way in late February. :yesnod:

i use the Turtle Wax product on my Z after trying almost every product out there. By far it is the best for longivity, ease of application and has no spin-off.

Thanks ScottZ. That Prismatic with rainbow effect looks wild! I'm going to test out several products and that is going to be one of them. :seeya

Thanks everyone. I'll have lots of testing to do. LOL!! DocSandy, you'll be in good shape with few tourists in February. Hope the chalet has a fireplace - Ha! If you're bringing the Z car, try to make some time for the 'Dragon' - hwy 129 between the Great Smoky Mountain National Park and the Cherokee National Forest. It boasts 318 curves in 11 miles. What a rush.

MEGUAIRS gel......all other come off and end up on the side of my car.....must be a speed think. Since I changed to Meguairs, that hasn't happened.

303 Aerospace Protectant. It makes the rubber look fresh without it looking to shiney.

I've tried a few and currently use Zaino Z16, which I like because it's not too shiny. On the F1SC tires, those radial grooves on the sidewall are cool looking, but they act as little storage areas for tire dressing, which then gets slung onto the side of the car when you drive. For best results, apply the stuff, wait a while, and then wipe off any excess, especially from those grooves.

Zaino here as well. Lasts forever and doesn't have a too shiny rice look.
