No way. In my opinion, he has devalued the car as it was. If I bought this car, I could never take it to a show or club meeting. I would always be known as the "Guy with the fake Z06".

We've had many discussions about bogus Z's here, and the responses range from outrage (like me!) to those who think it's okay to do all the Z look-a-like mods MINUS the phony badge crap, to the morons who can be counted on to say "Hey, dude, it's your, do what you want! If you want a fake Z05, go for it, dude!"
Imagine the thought process (?) that leads a guy to put 405 badges on a car that has 350 hp..... Imagine putting them on a coupe that is so obviously not a true Z06. Wouldn't you like to have a chat with this guy to see what planet he's from?

alot of people always ask me is the a Z06? the best thing about it, the top comes off! this car has the removable roof, the z06 doesn't! i also put the OEM chevrolet 2004 z06 "405HP" emblems on the fenders!!!!

I think it's hideous. I have an 00' FRC and wouldn't mind putting "functional" break ducts and screens, but Z06 badging is out of question. While I want to enhance my car's performance, I would never consider calling it something it isn't. I see Z06 badges (for the side of the car) all the time at local Corvette shops and I am always like "I hope they only sell those as replacements for real Z06's". I doubt this to be the case though. The only badging I may use one day is Ligenfelter, if and when I can afford his supercharger package!!! 3.7 0-60 and mid 11's :yesnod:

I just hope some poor sap isn't :_dupe: 'd into buying this car thinking that they are getting a Z06 :nonod:. Otherwise, I have no problem with someone doing anything they want to their own car so long as they are honest about what it is and isn't.

once you put the badges on, you are poser. if you like the other accessories like wheels etc. and all that go for it. i was going to on convertible until it started consuming oil at a rate of 1 1/2 quarts per thousand. so i traded it

Now what about those people that chop the roofs off of Z06's to make them a so called "convertible?" Doesn't this still apply of being something you are not? Are most against chopping the roof off their Z06? Is this proper?
