Old man alert! Considering new exhaust. Suggestions welcomed!
I bought my C5 in March of 2018 and one of the three prior owners had put an exhaust on it with what looks like two "krinkle" type mufflers or resonators where the mufflers would be - in the forward and the rearward part of the "U-bend" of the pipes that go to the outboard sides of the car underneath the package compartments.
The car is pretty aggressive sounding - always has been. I'm starting to want something more "stock." What would you folks recommend for a "drone free" highway driving experience? And yes, perhaps I AM getting older!

I'm going to have to put in another vote for Corsa Sport/touring.
Docile sort of when off the throttle and ear piercing when on the throttle.
Now a lot of this noise level is going to be predicated by horsepower level and upstream exhaust mods.
If you are stock engine and especially stock manifolds the Corsa is going to sound great and never be loud.

If you have stock manifolds/midpipe then 100000% Corsa Sport or even the louder Corsa Extreme system.
Another reported "no drone" system is Borla Stype 2 or Borla Atak.

Did a cam swap on my C5. The exhaust is now loud or so I think? I'm running Corsa. Not going to change it but it just seems loud now. The previous comment about mods upstream seem to be correct. I also have LT's.

Another old man here... I also have the Corsa Sport, love it. Great sound, no drome. To hear it search YT for Toys4life, then open the first "Leaky Diff" video. Forward to the 2:22 mark. It will give you idea what it sounds like at idle

I installed the Billy Boat PRT on mine, stock manifolds and mid pipe. Sounds great not too loud and doesn't drone. I love it and gets lots of comments about how good it sounds.

I'd like to try the Borla S Type 2 or Atak.

I have BB PRTs with LTs , x-over and no cats. Overall I like it. Loud, but no (or very little) drone. Vid from when I bought it. Engine is a LS2 based 427 with a healthy cam.

For anyone who doesn't prefer the raspy sound to some of the Corsa models, I can vouch that the Z06 Titaniums behind long tubes is a great combination of being able to hear conversations in the car and birds OUTSIDE the car when cruising, while sounding mean at wot.
From a fellow "maybe I'm getting old" guy who ran headers to Borla S for 12 years before trying Titaniums, it left me happy. That car died thanks to a Tahoe and I just picked up a second set of Titaniums now for the Z06 project which I intend to hack into my preference. I believe a bypass with cutout is what I'd like to attempt with it to have the best of all worlds. Happy wife and happy commutes for me when the windows are up (no drone) but then all the turbo noises and angry 402 when I want to shake the valley as I fly through.
