Default Ceramic pad recommendations

I'm going to be taking a 5-6,000 mile road trip with my C5 this June and it still has the original brake pads on it so I've been thinking that I should change the brake pads on it before I leave and would like to put ceramic pads on so I don't have as much dust and clean up will be easier. I never track or race the car it's my daily driver, anyone have a good recommendation for me other than just buying what the auto parts has in stock?

I’ve never tried them, but how about carbotech1521 compound. If those are truly the original brakes, new rotors, and brake fluid is probably a good idea. I use Hawk HP plus, they are not ceramic, they are an entry level race pad, try Hawk ceramic compound, pretty cheap at tire rack, I got my rotors from rockauto, AC Delco gold.

I have the yellow Hawk pads on my C6Z-upgraded brakes and they work well on-street and track. I got them used from a fellow on the C6 group. They had very few miles on them - I don't know why he wanted to get rid of them....

EBC Blue Stuff

DBA T3 Rotors

Even with “Stock” Calipers

A Fantastic result..

Really makes a difference when you have Boss Hoss Brakes to back up your otherwise ultra capable C5

Seem to have converted two of my friends to this combination after they drove mine ....

.... you probably don’t need to go full boat on the T3 rotors as they are a bit pricey the T2s would work very well for spirited street driving ....

Find someone with the correct computer that can do an ABS bleed of your entire system ....

PS... A bit Dusty. However, Dust=Performance

Good Stuff!

Enjoy

Hawk or EBC but don’t get too aggressive if just street driving. Bigger not always better or in this case more aggressive

Thanks for all the replies, not looking to upgrade anything other than the pads at this time as I'm happy with the way the brakes are working for my driving like I said don't race or track the car anymore.
