My 2000 was broken into in an attempt to steal it. Input needed.
Hello, all!
I awoke Tuesday morning to going out to my car (covered parking) from my condo to my rear hatch being opened. Someone had broken in and attempted to steal it.
I have some pics of the damage to the interior at this Reddit post. I'm at work and do not have the time to throw them all together for this post:

My insurance company is having a hard time finding a shop to repair this. To me it looks like it needs a new ignition switch, center bezel and stereo head unit at the least.
Has anyone gone through this particular repair? I'm in Seattle and any recommendations of shops would be welcomed. As it is I think I'm going to be stuck with a dealership.
I have full coverage on my insurance. Just looking for pitfalls or advice before I let go of it to them.
Thanks!
Edit: here are pics

If you look close the ignition has been screw driver damaged (look at the position of the switch).

Pitfalls? mostly that new parts are hard to come by. I might do some legwork on sourcing new parts for them. A shop isn't going to spend a lot of time on that and if you can get a list of sources it might help.

Give Dan at Corvettes of Auburn a call. It looks like the car has a double din stereo so a non stock bezel is readily available. I aim not sure about availability of the ignition switch this all should be a quick and easy fix.
if you have any questions go to Pugetsoundcorvetteclub.com and I will try to help.

The ignition switch itself is readily available. It's "official" GM but definitely cheaper Chinese after-market that GM just throws their sticker on now. I got one a couple years ago from a dealer..... then had to replace it a few weeks later cause it was bad.

If you had to do it again, would you get the new aftermarket or get a used one?

Thanks! Would he be a parts man or a repair solution?
The car is in the hands of my insurance company now and we are trying to find the right place for the job.
I saw Corvettes of Auburn too.

Tom Wong is the go to guy for anything performance related but since the ignition switch seems to be readily available you could probably even go to a Car Toys store for the repair. They certainly do the bezel and radios on C5s and the ignition switch is pretty straightforward. The computer just reads the resistance on the pellet on the key to work. You will have to have the correct resistance pellet in the key that you purchase with the switch. Yes you will now need a second key for the doors unless a locksmith can change the tumblers on the door locks.
if it happened to me I would take the check from the insurance company and do it myself pocketing the extra cash left over. This is an easy fix.
Why does the insurance company have possession of the car? Normally it would have been towed to a repair facility, but you should still have possession.

They have it inasmuch as they are towing it to a dealership but I'm unsure they're going to do the repair. The car is still mine but I'd rather be as hands off as much as I can, except for the decisions I have to make.
I think they're going to look at it on the 25th. I'm sure everything will be fine, I just want to educate myself as much as I can.
Thanks for your input!

If it is at a dealership there should be no worries since the insurance company is paying the bill.

I suppose since I had bad luck with the newer one I would not be opposed to trying a used one.

If your alarm system is in working order, it should trip when the car is locked and the door is opened.

this won't prevent someone from breaking in, but I use ravelco on all my cars. virtually impossible to start the car if used properly. Costs around $600 to install. Combine with a good alarm system and you'll have decent protection.
