For winter storage 2 bottles of Techron?
Ok I have had the gas guage problem since I’ve owned my 2000 M6. Would it help during winter storage to add 2 bottles of Techron or could that cause additional problems. I know change the sensor is the answer but didn’t know if this might work during its long winter nap. Thanks

If the engine doesn’t run II won’t change anything Sta Byl is what you should put in the tank when storing and I would never put 2 bottles of Techron at once in a single tank of gas.

One bottle of Techron at a time should be sufficient. If additional treatment is needed for the fuel sensor issue, add a second bottle at the next fillup.

Stabil, or another product weve used with good results here in Michigan, is Starbrite. Made by a company named Star Tron(?). I know the Star Brite name is correct. Comes in transparent, blue tinted bottles. Don't laugh at the name. This stuff really works. I learned of it while I had snowmobiles. I never had any problems using this stuff. It flat works, and I've never used Stabil again. As for your gas gauge issues, they are almost 24 years old, and failing. By the time you dump 8-10 bottles of Techron into it, you could've bought new sending units, which will fix the issue for the next 15-20 years. My .02....

Thanks all just seen a post somewhere about the 2 bottle dose when storing and didn’t want to try without asking the experts on here. Hasn’t worked since I’ve owned the car so probably won’t keep spending money on it anymore and just get it fixed this spring. Great looking and running car except for that annoying guage problem.

Thank you, mine is a 2000 M6. It looks easy enough and in my early years I would have done this in a second but at 73 my old bones don’t want to work as well and afraid I my really screw something up. 🤣

There is a techron that has a fuel stabilizer. I just used it on my C5.

Use Stabil or Seafoam when you store it. I would actually avoid storing the car with Techron. Techron can damage the inside of the fuel tank if it is overused. I would imagine keeping it in the tank for months at a time might do the same. I would think Seafoam would be your best bet for this particular application. Use the Techron again when you can actually drive the car.
